Cemetery Booster Pump Station
This project replaces three existing pumps and adds one additional pump at the Cemetery Water Booster Pump Station. Pumps 1 & 2 will provide 800 gallons per minute (GPM) each with 40 horsepower (HP) motors each and Pumps 3 & 4 will provide 1,500 GPM each with 75 HP motors each.
Installation of new equipment completed in phases during the 2022 construction season. Water Division will do most of the project work, with electrical wiring and start-up outsourced.
Project completion is expected for May 2023. This is an identified master plan project adopted by City Council June 2, 2015

Why It's Needed
Upgrades to the Cemetery Booster Station will assist with meeting master planning identified issues for peak flow and redundancy (generator) for water system customers located in the Cemetery Pressure Zone. These upgrades will also assist with long-term growth within the Urban Growth Boundary at the west end of the pressure zone and may be eligible for future reimbursement.

Project Milestones
Bid awarded to Pump Tech LLC for $70,680 for the purchase and delivery of four pumps to upgrade the Cemetery Water Booster Pump Station.
Water Division crews assembled and installed pump fittings
Pumps, fittings, electrical distribution panels, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) on-site. Generator delivered, and equipment installed.
Cement pad poured and generator delivered and installed
Cemetery Booster Pump Station (BPS) went offline Oct. 24-25 for installation of new pumps as part of the major upgrade. Piping and valving was completed to accommodate the major upgrades and the existing natural gas fire flow pump.
The overall pressure zone Cemetery BPS serves is also served by SE 7th Street BPS, and eventually will be served by the new East End BPS, which means domestic flow and domestic water pressure should be affected by the work. City crews waited to perform this work when our customer demand is low with irrigation season completed.
The goal is to have all the new equipment installed and begin testing by Thursday, November 2nd.
