The Pendleton Public Library has offered a Mobile Library service for two years; however, the mobile library truck/trailer is not handicap accessible.
With this new vehicle we are able to serve community members who are currently unable to board our existing vehicle, expand our service area to include senior residences, and better utilize our existing truck and trailer combo as a rotating library pod, mobile museum exhibit, and so many more fun and creative ideas to come.
Funding
The library is currently operating a fundraising campaign to purchase the vehicle. With $128,000 raised and a commitment from the library to fund whatever amount remains to be raised at purchase time, we are ready to award this contract and begin the process.
