Why It's Needed
Overlays and Reconstructions help keep streets usable. This season, 30 percent of funding for these projects is dedicated to streets that have been ranked as poor condition; 70 percent is used to keep existing streets in good or better condition ranking per the Street Saver pavement classification software. The streets for this season's overlays that are classified as local residential streets have either been determined to not have any underground utility issues or the underground utility issues were recently resolved.
