South Improvements generally consist of:
- Gravity sewer
- Sewer force main
- Water distribution line
- Gas, primary power, telecommunication utilities
- Mobilization, traffic control, erosion control, and all other work associated with the work
Specifics:
Multiple steel casings across an existing taxiway and runway for water, sewer, power, and fiber/telecommunications utilities. Approximately 1,400 LF 6-inch diameter sewer force main, approximately 4,200 LF of 8- and 12-inch diameter gravity sewer with associated manholes, and connection to the existing system. Approximately 4,300 LF of 18-inch diameter water distribution line with associated fire hydrants, valves, fittings, water service connections, and associated surface restoration. Approximately 1,300 LF of 6-inch conduit and associated concrete vaults for future power utility installation. Approximately 1,300 LF of (6) 1 1/4-inch diameter conduits and associated concrete vaults for future communications installations.
Funding:
City secured Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Funds of $14,855,000 and a Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund of $9,800,000 to assist with this approved master planning project. Loan funds are available for this project.
Coordination of the UAS Phase IV Industrial Park South Improvements and the Airport Improvement Project for Runway 7-25 major rehabilitation work is providing cost savings in allowing the open trench installation vs direction boring. This savings was anticipated to be around $1.5 million based on the engineer’s estimate.
