The Water Filtration Facility uses about 3 million membrane fibers to make river water safe to drink. Each membrane has thousands of fibers with holes 300 times smaller than the width of a human hair to complete that process.  In 2021, the city purchased 18 new membrane cassettes to filter drinking water for the city

Completed: 2021

Additional note: 30 new membrane cassettes ordered and expected to be delivered in late-2023, early-2024
